A 2 hour experience for beginners introducing you to all things Nia. The first hour is mainly passive, where you'll receive the following from Alison, supported by the visuals of a powerpoint presentation:
|
A 1.5 minute intro to Nia by Nia co-creator; Debbie Rosas
|
A 2 hour experience suitable for beginners and also for regulars who wish to revisit and refine technique. The first 50 minutes will be focussed on learning the 27 base moves of Nia; stances, steps, foot techniques and kicks. A soundscape of Nia music will offer inspiration as you learn the names of the moves, how to move them to suit Your Body's Way, and how to tweak them with the sensation of pleasure as your guide. After a short break we'll head into the second hour; a Classic Nia class, where we may be joined by some of the regulars. This class will include all 27 Nia base moves we've just played with. |
A 2 hour experience suitable for beginners and for regulars who wish to revisit and refine technique.
In the first hour you'll learn the 7 core moves and 18 upper extremity moves of Nia. Another workshop (Nia 52 Moves Part 1) covers the base moves. After a short break we'll head into the second hour; a Classic Nia class, where we may be joined by some of the regulars. The challenge for Alison is to include ALL 52 moves in this Nia class experience. |
