The new term kicks off with a Classic Nia routine which we learn, move, energise for about a month. The Term 1, 2023 routine is called FLOW (linked to intro video clip for those who want a sneak peak). This is the form part of term and offers the opportunity to get familiar with the music and movements of one routine. The purpose of this is to allow time to personalise and deepen your experience and increase your confidence with unique movement sequences, all leading toward greater movement embodiment. We mark mid-term (give or take) with a Nia MoveIT class.
Then we dive into the freedom part of term and move to different routines and Nia playlists and it's also when we may have one or two classes taught by guest teachers. This time offers the opportunity to be in beginners mind, experiencing new-to-you music, movement sequences and teachers. For students who have been doing Nia for a while, it offers the opportunity to revisit routines we have played with in the past, building upon previous learning and integrating new movement skill.
Beginners workshops may be dotted throughout the term. Check out the Beginners Workshops page for more info.
