Booking System FAQ's
Why is a booking system (called momence) being introduced?
Firstly, to ensure we don't exceed the capacity of Saturday classes in Studio 1 which is 10 students. The absolute capacity is 12 students, but an additional one or two waitlisted people will only be admitted to class if they agree to be the teachers' wing (wo)man in the front row, to ensure ample space for all. Secondly, to ensure each student has enough space to a) move freely and b) feel safe within the space while we continue to manage Covid in the community. Thirdly, it's an efficient way for FLEXI 10 class pass holders to keep track of the remaining classes on their pass and avoid paper card versions. Lastly, to automate more of the time-consuming business admin tasks and free up Alison's time for more creative pursuits... like learning new Nia routines!
can i just turn up for class without booking?
You can, however priority will be given to those who have booked. So you do run the risk (especially for the Saturday class) of being turned away:( Booking is strongly encouraged for the Saturday class as this is in a smaller studio than the Thursday class. If you have a COMMIT, COMMIT+ Term Pass or are coming to Nia on the Beginners Intro to Nia 6 class series then you are auto booked into all classes you have paid for as a benefit of your Pass. If you have a FLEXI 10 Class Pass, or are coming to Nia as a one-off Casual or using a Gift Voucher, it is best to book to secure your spot.
I'm tech-averse, what other options are there?
Please reach out for help. Alison will do her best to help but truthfully, she's a bit tech-averse too! It's a learning curve and we'll get there. If it really proves too difficult for you to book / unbook and you're a Saturday morning Nia student on a COMMIT or COMMIT+ pass, or the Beginners 6 class series, please let Alison know via text (021 881 849) at least 24 hrs before (ideally) if you cannot come to class and she will manually unbook you (since you're auto-booked in for the class(es) your pass covers). Tech-averse FLEXI pass holders are not auto-booked in advance and will need to text Alison 24 hrs before to book in for class.
should i pay for classes / passes via momence or via alison's website?
If you're paying for a one-off class or event (eg Workshop, Nia Jam) OR you're new to Nia and are paying for the Beginners 6 class series or the Intro to Nia 2 weeks unlimited pass, you can pay via a 'Sign Up' button in the schedule above for the specific class or event listed. This links you to the Momence booking system and there'll be no extra charge (the price at checkout has been reduced to absorb the 4% Momence booking fee to ensure the final charge is the price advertised and you don't pay extra). However if you're purchasing a FLEXI, COMMIT or COMMIT+ pass, best pay via Alison's website to avoid the 4% fee that she cannot afford to absorb on your behalf. Alison will then manually load the pass in your Momence account (within 24 hrs), enabling you to book into classes.
What Our NIA STUDENTS Are Saying
"Nia is fantastic. I had no idea what to expect but the music is incredible, the movements are inspiring, and I get to feel energised during the class and for a long time afterward." Susan Brady, City Nia Student
