The Changing Face of Fitness

Yes, a Nia class is a choreographed 1hr group movement class to music.  Sounds familiar!  Dive a little deeper however and discover the uniqueness of the Nia practise.  Driven by the "pleasure principle", Nia offers a fun, creative, personal, functional way to achieve health and fitness goals.  Here are some of the key differences between traditional exercise and Nia:
                   Traditional Exercise
                        Painful
                        Guilt driven
                        Single-movement forms
                        Stoic
                        Trains only large muscle groups
                        Movements directed externally
                        Can lead to injuries
                        Creates physical fitness
